Zakat

This is compulsory upon every sane and mature male or female who possess the value of nisaab. 2.5% of one’s wealth must be given every year to those who are in need. You can donate your Zakat towards the following projects: Most needy, Emergency Relief, Orphan sponsorship, Widow support, House construction, Income generation projects, Food aid, Hifdh Sponsorship, Kaffarah or Fidya

Sadaqah Wajibah

This type of charity is similar to zakat and binding by nature. Things that go under the category of Sadaqah Wajibah: Sadaqatul Fitr (also known as zakat ul fitr or fitrana), Fidya and Kaffarah. Please visit our Sadaqatul Fitr and Fidya and Kaffarah pages for more information.

Sadaqah Nafilah/Nafl and Lillah

This type of charity is given for the removal or difficulties or for the pleasure of Allah. The amount to give is up to an individual.

Nafl Sadaqah and Lillah can be donated to the following projects: Masjid projects, Madrassah projects, Qur’an and Islamic literature distribution, Water well, Water Hand pump and water distribution projects, Aqeeqah, School Projects, Medical aid and Livelihood projects.
